Stewardship . . . by the numbers!
72 people
sent on a mission trip in 2006 (583 trip days so far).
4 mission trips completed
in 2006 (so far).
20.8% of Second Presbyterian's
annual budget is dedicated to benevolences.
26 local missions are supported
by Second Presbyterian's budget, ranging from the Roanoke Rescue
Mission to the West End Center.
A $300 annual pledge will
send one youth to camp.
Fall is a great reminder
that nothing stays the same. Temperatures drop, days get shorter,
new fashions hit the stores, new television shows hit the airwaves,
and birds fly south; but, unfortunately, interest rates and fuel
prices continue to fly north. Consider these numbers:
50.4% Second
Presbyterian’s cost increase for Natural Gas this year.
8.1% Second Presbyterian’s
personnel costs increase this year (including pension and healthcare).
5.7% of Second Presbyterian’s
annual budget is dedicated to facility maintenance
(Note: we are already over budget for 2006 due to heavy Heating
and Air Conditioning repairs).
100 years Age of the oldest
parts of Second Presbyterian Church.
43% of our annual pledges
remained the same from 2005 to 2006.
Our church is growing and expanding
its mission while facing operating costs that increase every year.
Let’s all make sure our annual pledges increase to keep up!

Stewardship
Our congregation is blessed by God in many ways. The
church continues to grow in membership, attendance, and giving.
Second Presbyterian helps support various local, national, and international
benevolences.
Pledging
Members make pledges yearly during Stewardship season.
Each year, a new pledge card is completed. You may also
make a pledge from this website by clicking here.
Memorial and Celebration Gifts
These funds receive gifts in honor of our loved ones
and in celebration of births, weddings, special service, etc. Special
gifts can be designated as desired.
The Second Fund
This fund was established in 1978 to "underwrite
the future of Second Presbyterian Church." In the firm belief
that the stewardship of each generation must maintain the church,
income from the fund is not intended as income for the annual budget.
