Medical Missions

As many of you have heard, our February 2008 Medical Mission was an outstanding success. thirty-two doctors, nurses and
workers traveled to san Juan de la Maguana, dominican republic, to experience another wonderful and rewarding
trip. sixteen of our group were members of second Presbyterian Church, most of whom are planning to return next year.
our surgical team was able to execute 50 procedures, many of which were major, and our barrio teams saw over 1500 children
and adults. several procedures in both the Clinic and in the barrios were indeed lifesaving.

Our construction team accomplished much on the new kitchen that we are building at the Jim Smith School in El
rosario, and George Anderson dedicated the Bob and Jeanette Williams Classrooms at the school. Our 2008 trip was covered in Carilion’s quarterly publication, “Verve.”

Medical Mission 2009 – Planning is already underway for our February 2009 trip. those wishing to join us should contact either Bob williams or frank Pruette. dates for the trip are Ffebruary 7– 14.

Solid Rock Missions – At the april 26, 2008 meeting of the Solid Rock Missions Board of directors, Bob williams was elected treasurer.

Hospital construction – it now looks as if Solid Rrock Missions will at long last break ground for the new clinic. this should take place either in late fall or early spring in 2009. it has been recently
learned that the local government has told srM that it must move or face closing because of possible flooding issues.

Bibles and Bricks– Trip Kreger and Nancy Morris are busy preparing for this summer’s trip and have 16 adults and 16 teens participating this year.
